Abstract
A fluorescenceswitchthatconsistsofDNA-templatedsilvernanoclusters(DNA-AgNCs)triggeredby silverion(Agþ) isdevelopedtodetectAgþ. Themechanismofthe fluorescence switchingofDNA-AgNCs is investigatedby fluorescence spectroscopy, circulardichroismspectroscopy,DNAhybridizationassay and massspectrometry.Agþ induces adimericstructureofCyt12-AgNCsbyformingabridgebetween two Cyt12-AgNCs,whereCyt12 is cytosine12-mer;thisdimerformationcausesthe fluorescence change of Cyt12-AgNCs fromredtogreen.UsingthisAgþ-triggered fluorescenceswitch, wesuccessfullydetected Agþ at concentrationsaslowas10nM.Furthermore,wequantitativelydetectedtheAgþ in the Silmazins, whichisdermatologicalburnointmenthavingsilversulfadiazine.Agþ detection usingthis fluorescence switchhashighselectivityandsensitivity,andshortresponsetime,andcanbeusedsuc- cessfully eveninthepresenceofothermetalions.
